Deputy Care Manager –
The Derwen School
Salary: £27.308 -
£31.002 per annum (inclusive of a £5,000 shift allowance) dependent on
experience and qualifications
We are recruiting an
exceptional and experienced Deputy Home Manager to work alongside our Head of
Care to shape and lead the residential aspects of our newly established
residential school, in Oswestry.
THE ROLE:
We are recruiting an
exceptional and experienced Deputy Home Manager to work alongside our Head of
Care to shape and lead the residential aspects of our newly established
residential school, in Oswestry. You will work closely with the Head of Care to
ensure the delivery of high quality therapeutic care to young people as part of
our integrated service offering. In order to achieve this you will hold an
in-depth knowledge of parenting models appropriate to children with an LD
diagnosis. Alongside this you will also have knowledge of relevant legislations
and be confident in your knowledge so that you are able to guide and develop
the wider team.
Alongside the
Registered Manager you will:
· Lead, coach, inspire
and motivate your team
· Have the ability to
quickly develop trusting professional relationships

· Work to ensure these
behaviours are replicated throughout your team
To apply for this role
you will need:
· Level 3 Diploma in
Children & Young people or Residential Childcare
· Ideally will hold or
will be working to the achievement of a level 5 Diploma in Leadership and
Management.
· Experience working
at a senior level in a residential setting with children and young people.
· Committed to
providing an excellent level of care for our young people

- Hold a full driving licence and

As a Deputy Manager
you will be required to work 5 forty-eight hour shifts (10 sleep ins)
{240hours} plus 5.5 hours office time; this totals 245.5 hours per month.

Experience:
- working with children with a
Learning Disability diagnosis: 1 year (Required)
- working at a senior level in
residential childcare: 1 year (Required)
Licence:
- Driving Licence (Required)
- NVQ Level 3 in Children and
Young People (Required)
