Waking Night: Support Worker: Residential

Full Time Contract- 35 hours on a 3 week rolling rota

Salary- £16, 835.00 – £19,929.00 per year (£9.25 – £10.95 ph.) This is for 35 hours per week

Shift Patter: 21:30-07:30

The Role:

We are seeking to recruit Night Support Workers to ensure the safety of the people we support during the night.

If successful you would be required to carry out a variety of domestic work, typically deep cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, ironing and updating paperwork as well as staying attentive throughout the night and doing everything possible to safeguard the young people who we support.

You will be working as part of a large community of specialised workers to support adults age 19+ with a range of learning difficulties, autism, communication difficulties, challenging behaviours and other complex needs within a spacious residential site.

The adults live in small group residential bungalows built around a central courtyard. The client creates homely environments that provide life skills training as well as having all the home comforts you would expect. They encourage the adults to follow as many family experiences as are practically possible.

This full time permanent vacancy as a Waking Night Residential Support Worker, salary of up to £19,920 with an extensive training package and internal progression. Candidates with no experience looking to pursue a new career within health and social care will be considered.

Responsibilities

· Assisting clients with all aspects of personal care, promoting self-help and independence in-line with care plans and supporting with moving and handling techniques

· Assisting the administration of medication

· Assisting with domestic duties

· Participate in regular review meetings and risk assessments

· Attend and contribute to team meetings

· Managing challenging behaviour in a safe and effective manner

· To maintain knowledge and operate within current legislation and company polices and procedures

· Promote in dependence and develop a trusting relationship with the clients

· Maintain confidentiality at all times

· Report any concerns that may indicate safety and well being is being compromised

· To undertake all mandatory training inline with company policies and procedures

Person Specification

· Staff must be flexible with shift patterns

· Willingness to train to NVQ standard

· Good values and aspiration to want to work in the Health and Social Care sector

· Experience within a Health and Social Care would be advantageous but not essential

· All applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and 5 years referencing

  • MUST HOLD A FULL DRIVING LICENCE DUE TO LOCATION OF THE RESIDENTIAL SITE
