Job Description

Role: Team Leader: Children *2 on 4 off* PERMANENT CONTRACT

Location: Newport (Shropshire)

Salary starting from £25,461 and goes up to £27,047 per annum (sleep ins inclusive)

Contract : Permanent

Essential: due to the rural location you must hold a full driving license

Shift Pattern: 48 hour shifts

You will be contracted to a 2 on and 4 off shift pattern amounting to 48 hours per week. This therefore includes sleep-ins and an example shift patterns would be:

  • Starting at the home at 8AM on a Monday morning and then leaving at 8AM on the Wednesday morning
  • Sleep-ins are inclusive to your annual salary, however are paid at £68.40 per sleep in
  • Your overtime rate will be £12.45-£13.40 per hour

Based on the above you will be working 244 hours per month (including your sleep-ins) equating to 61 shifts per year. However, flexibility is required.

About the environment:
I am recruiting Senior Care Practitioners to work alongside management within the home and existing team to deliver a high quality of care and support to the children and young people with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties in our 4 bedded residential.

You will contribute to individual Quality of Life Plans and provide a balanced programme of personal development focusing on social skills, independence and community involvement enabling the young people to achieve their full potential.

THE ROLE:

As a Senior Social Care Practitioner you will work closely with our young people to ensure they are being provided support and a good quality of life with positive outcomes.

We are looking for people who are:

· Committed to providing an excellent level of care for our young people.

· You must hold Level 3 in Residential childcare or Children and Young people to be considered.

· Have at least 1 years residential childcare experience

· Able to enjoy our young people’s successes and be supportive through their challenges

· Assertive in difficult situations, while remaining calm under pressure

· A good communicator with interpersonal skills.

· Have a sense of humour and fun

· Hold a Full driving licence and your own vehicle

· Flexibility to travel and work shifts across multiple sites where needed

· Hold a high level of experience of working with children with an autism diagnosis/learning difficulties
