This is a full
time, permanent position paying £7.83 per hour with additional payments for
sleep-ins. You will be working 37.5 hour per week permanent contract on a rota
basis working a mixture of earlies, lates and long days.
We are
currently looking for the right person to join a team of friendly and dedicated
Support Workers who are looking for their next step in their Care career. We
are searching for the ideal person that is looking to further the development
of their career in a residential home with adults with learning disabilities.
We are working
on behalf of a Company that offer both daily and specialist support to adults,
young people and children with a wide range of needs including learning
disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, sensory impairment and mental health
problems.
Responsibilities
of Support Worker:
- Your
duties will include but not limited to working with service users to
support their education and individual life programme
- Helping
the service users access the community
- Promoting
skills and independence whilst maintaining safeguarding procedures
- Promoting
life skills and independence in the home, developing domestic and personal
skills
- Documenting
all service user activities, reporting and recording key aspects of their
care
- Managing
challenging behaviour, helping to develop self-control techniques
Person
Specification for Support Worker:
- Experience
of working with vulnerable people with complex and challenging behaviour
although not essential as full training will be provided would be an
advantage
- Flexibility
to work earlies and lates on both weekdays and weekends
- The
ability to work as part of a team and on independently
- Driving
license and access to own vehicle is preferrable but not essential
