Are you looking for your next step in your care career? We are currently looking for a Support Worker to join an established team to help support and grow the young people that you will look after.

This is a full time, permanent position where you will be working a 42-hour per week contract based on a 2 on and 4 off rota including sleep-ins.

 

Whether you are looking to advance your support work further or looking to get in to it for the first time then you will join a well-established children’s provider where the majority of their Registered Managers’ started with them as Support Workers.

 

You, the Support Worker will be working under the supervision of the Registered Manager of a brand-new Children’s service. This 8-bedded home has been specifically built in a beautiful rural location on the Worcestershire and Herefordshire borders for Children between the ages of 9-19 years of age who have a range of emotional, behavioural and other complex needs.

 

Responsibilities of the Support Worker:

 

  • Follow the placement plan of each Young Person, supporting them through daily routines.
  • To assist in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring a high level of safety and homeliness
  • Follow therapeutic plans and strategies, attending daily education with the Young Person
  • Operating within the Company’s policies and procedures to ensure that we provide a positive living experience for all Young People
  • To maintain effective communication and liaison with Young People, their families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality
  • To support Young People and staff members with the preparation of meals, activities, cleaning and social events

 

 

Person Specification for the Support Worker:

 

  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent would be advantageous
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • An unrivalled commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding
  • Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle
